A marble vacuum lifter grips a slab across its face with suction pads, so one operator can move and place marble without edge clamps or a crew. Marble is softer than granite and chips easily at the edges, which is why a face-gripping vacuum lifter is safer than clamps: the load spreads across the slab instead of pinching a fragile edge. Quattrolifts marble lifters span 330 lb to 1,800 lb (150 to 820 kg), covering countertop slabs through oversized architectural marble.

Buying Guide

1. Size the lifter to your heaviest marble slab

A full marble slab can exceed 1,000 lb (450 kg), and a 3 cm slab is heavier than a 2 cm slab of the same size. Pick a machine whose rated capacity comfortably clears your heaviest slab. Quattrolifts marble lifters run 330 lb to 1,800 lb (150 to 820 kg).

2. Pads for polished and honed marble

Polished marble is flat and seals firmly with standard suction pads. Honed, tumbled, or naturally porous marble needs foam vacuum pads that conform to the surface and hold the seal. Specify your marble finishes when you request a quote and we will spec the right pad set.

3. Why vacuum lifting protects marble edges

Marble chips and cracks at the edges more easily than granite. Edge clamps concentrate force on those fragile edges, while a vacuum lifter grips the slab face and spreads the load evenly. That is why fabricators handling marble move to face-gripping vacuum lifters to cut breakage and rework.

4. Shop fabrication vs on-site countertop install

In-shop machines (Mule, Glassboy) handle marble at the saw, the polisher, and the loading dock. On-site machines (Vector) carry battery power and off-road tires for delivery and countertop install. Forklift-mounted Omni units bridge both, riding to site on a forklift and then placing the slab.
